Frequently Asked Questions

How is V-Band different from Lap Band Surgery?

Risks: As with any surgical procedure, the actual Lap Band carries many risks and complications, including gastric perforation (a tear in the stomach wall), erosion of the band into the stomach, difficulty swallowing, nausea, vomiting, etc.  With the V-Band, there is absolutely no risk of complications.  The V-Band is a completely safe, non-surgical procedure
Qualification: Before you can use the actual Lap Band, you need to qualify medically and your BMI must be in a certain range.  There are no such requirements for the V-Band.  The only qualification is that you are a good candidate for hypnosis.  Before starting the program, you will receive a free consultation with one of our trained hypnotherapists that will help you determine whether the program is right for you.

Price: The price of the V-Band is only a fraction of the cost of actual Lap Band surgery, which can cost upwards of $15,000.  See below for more details on pricing.

What Happens After the V-Band is installed?

After the V-Band is installed, you will continue to receive weekly hypnotherapy sessions, as prescribed by your hypnotherapist.  The purpose of these sessions is to help you develop an entirely new attitude towards food and your body so that you can achieve permanent results.  After the V-Band, you will be inclined to eat smaller portions, taking small bites and eating slowly. Although you will not be restricted to a liquid diet (as with actual Lap Band surgery), you will be following a prescribed food plan (not a diet!).  Your therapist will give you suggestions for sticking to the food plan.

How many sessions will I need?

Then number of sessions will vary, depending on your weight loss goal.  If you have less than 30 pounds to lose, the number of sessions required is 10-15.  If you have more than 30 pounds, the average number of sessions required is 25.

How long does a session last?

The V-Band will be fitted on your second visit.  This session will be 90 minutes long.  Each following session lasts 60 minutes.

What Does the V-Band cost?
The cost of the shorter program (10-15) sessions is $2997.  The cost of the longer program (25+ sessions) is $4997.

What if I cannot afford the cost?
If you cannot afford to pay the full amount, we will work with you to create an extended payment plan.  We also have a limited number of spots in our

What if I can’t be hypnotized?

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind.  Anyone can easily enter the hypnotic state, provided that he/she wants to be hypnotized.  Although some people find it easier to access a deeper level of hypnosis than others, a light to medium level of hypnosis is more than adequate for most situations.

Is hypnosis mind control?

Absolutely Not! The purpose of hypnotherapy is to help you achieve greater control over your own mind.  Contrary to popular belief, a person cannot be hypnotized unwillingly nor will a person follow directions against his or her own wishes when in trance. You continue to hear the therapist’s words but you will reject any ideas that are not in agreement with your own morals, ethics and welfare.

Is hypnosis medically approved?

Absolutely! Hypnosis has been approved by the American Medical Association since 1958 as a legitimate therapy for medical and psychological purposes.
